01 / Treatment Day
When to Rinse the Peel
Leave your Mia Peel on for 8 hours unless your practitioner gave you a different wear time. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water only, without cleanser or rubbing. Leave the area product-free immediately after rinsing.
If you feel significant burning or discomfort while the peel is on, contact Mia Peel promptly. If you suspect a burn, seek urgent medical help.
02 / First 7 days
Initial Skin Recovery
For the first seven days, use the recovery routine Mia Peel gave you for your treatment area. If you were given the routine below, use it only on intact treated skin. Start at your first scheduled morning or evening after rinsing off the peel.
Sebamed Baby Gentle Wash + Aquaphor
- Gently wash with lukewarm water and Sebamed Baby Gentle Wash.
- Rinse and pat dry.
- Apply a thin layer of Aquaphor.
Micellar water + Aquaphor
- Gently wipe with micellar water on a soft cotton pad.
- Let the area dry.
- Apply a thin layer of Aquaphor.
Keep active products paused. Avoid picking, scrubbing, excessive heat and friction while the skin heals.
03 / Day 7 Skin Check
Check That Your Skin Is Calm and Clear
Begin corrective aftercare only when skin is fully healed, with no burning, redness, stinging, soreness, rawness, broken skin or active peeling. If the area is still healing or irritated, wait and contact Mia Peel for guidance.
If the area is fully healed and you were prescribed corrective products, follow your area guide below. Patch test as instructed before full-area use.
Aftercare Instructions
Select your treatment area. Start this routine only after the skin check and follow the products, timing and patch-test instructions from your appointment.
Area guide / 01
Intimate Area
Vulva, perianal area, inner thighs and underarms
Use products only on the treated external skin Mia Peel specified. For vulval treatment, keep to the treated outer labia. Keep products away from inner genital tissue and openings. Wear loose, breathable clothing to reduce friction. If you had your underarms treated, follow your underarm-specific instructions and skip deodorant while the area is irritated or peeling.
On fully healed skin, patch test prescribed Clarity Cleanser and Corrective Concentrate separately on small areas of intact external skin. Watch for a reaction for 24–48 hours. If either area reacts, pause and contact Mia Peel.
Clarity Cleanser + Aquaphor
- Apply Clarity Cleanser with your fan brush to the treated external skin.
- Leave it on for the time Mia Peel advised, then rinse well and pat dry.
- Apply a thin layer of Aquaphor.
Micellar water + Corrective Concentrate
- Gently wipe with micellar water on a soft cotton pad.
- Let the area dry.
- Apply a thin layer of Corrective Concentrate only to the external dark areas Mia Peel identified.

Support / Skin review
Irritation & Support
What You May Notice
Following your Mia Peel treatment, you may experience mild dryness, tightness, flaking, peeling or temporary skin sensitivity. These can be part of the recovery process and may vary depending on your skin and treatment area.
Your skin should gradually become more comfortable as it heals. Significant or worsening discomfort should not be ignored.
When to Pause Your Products
Stop corrective products if you develop burning, stinging, redness, soreness or irritation after applying them. Contact Mia Peel for advice before restarting these products.
During recovery, minimise friction, heat and heavy sweating. Choose loose, breathable clothing and avoid tight underwear or leggings where they rub the treated area.
When to get medical help
Seek urgent medical help if you suspect a burn or have worsening pain, marked swelling, blistering, broken skin or oozing. Stop applying products and seek care straight away. The assessment form is for a Mia Peel review and is separate from urgent care. Chemical burn first-aid guidance.
Request a skin review
Take a clear photo in natural light, without filters, showing only the treated area. Use the Post-Peel Assessment Form to submit photographs and treatment updates.

Include your treatment date, the area treated, when symptoms started and any products you’ve used. Describe how the area looks and feels and whether it’s improving or getting worse.
Understanding Your Pigmentation
Aftercare can help manage visible pigmentation. Understanding what triggered it can help you reduce recurrence and decide when to seek medical advice.
Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation
Dark marks can follow inflammation from ingrown hairs, shaving, waxing, friction or irritated skin. Reducing the trigger, protecting exposed skin from the sun and following your prescribed care can help manage the marks.
If ingrown hairs keep recurring, ask about laser hair removal once skin has healed.
Hormonal pigmentation and melasma
Melasma often appears as brown patches on the face. Hormonal changes, including pregnancy or some hormonal medicines, can contribute. Sun exposure can make the patches more noticeable. Sun protection and a GP or dermatology assessment can help guide treatment.
Metabolic and underlying conditions
Persistent, thicker or velvety darkening, especially at the neck, underarms or groin, may be acanthosis nigricans. A GP can assess new or changing patches and decide whether to check for insulin resistance or other causes.
Lifestyle and prevention
Balanced nutrition supports general health. If blood sugar is a concern, follow your GP’s advice. Gentle skin care, less friction and hair removal that suits your skin can help limit repeated irritation.
Maintaining Your Results
Reduce friction
Wear loose, breathable clothing during recovery. Avoid picking, aggressive exfoliation and adding active products outside your prescribed routine.
Manage recurring ingrown hairs
Ask Mia Peel when hair removal can resume. If laser is suitable, choose a practitioner experienced with brown skin and ask about patch testing. Check directly with Laser Clinics UK about branch availability of the Candela GentleMax Pro and suitability of the 1064 nm Nd:YAG setting.
Protect exposed skin
Use sun protection on exposed treated areas as advised. Follow your prescribed aftercare consistently, including any pauses or changes agreed at your appointment.
Review changes that persist
If pigmentation keeps returning, spreads or changes texture, ask your GP to assess the cause.

Supplement Suggestions
Please consult your GP before taking any supplements. The products below are for general information. Evidence for oral glutathione in post-peel pigmentation is limited. The vitamin C product is high-strength, and more than 1,000 mg per day can cause digestive side effects.
Saw palmetto, zinc and DHT blockers
If you have symptoms you think may be hormonal, including possible PCOS, ask your GP what assessment or treatment is appropriate. Evidence for saw palmetto as a treatment for PCOS or pigmentation is insufficient. Some products marketed as DHT blockers combine saw palmetto with zinc. Check the label and discuss it with your GP before use.
